Il était situé sur la seigneurie du Hamel. Un superbe manuscrit du XVe siècle le représente comme une construction à colombage et torchis près du château féodal de Blancbourg, aujourd’hui disparu. Il servait avant la Révolution à fouler les draps. </p> <p>Appartenant à l’abbaye de Saint-Bertin, il sera vendu comme Bien National le 28 octobre 1791 à Louis Obert, marchand brasseur. Il y avait à l’époque 15 moulins à Blendecques. En 1838, il est vendu à Ignace Prosper Porion qui reconstruit le barrage vers 1841 tel qu’il est encore actuellement, composé de huit vannes plus celle donnant sur la roue que l’on nomme vanne molaire. Son petit-fils Prosper vendra le moulin à Adolphe Leleu, descendant de plusieurs générations de meuniers à vent.</p> <p>(textes Jean Bruggeman;président de l'ARAM Nord-Pas-De-Calais)</p> <p>Modernisé et réhabilité, la roue tourne toujours et les poissons sont heureux d’emprunter une passe construite spécialement pour respecter leur trajet naturel.
